I was looking online to get some advice on methods to clean carboys and came across this. I built one using about $10 worth of parts and it worked great.

[…] Filling and cleaning is exactly like a sanke keg. Remove the spring, pull out the spear. Now, I don’t use sanke kegs myself, so I can’t give you full details on the cleaning regimen, but it should be similar to cleaning a carboy. For that, I fill with warm Oxyclean water and let sit overnight or a good few hours to loosen all the crud. Then drain and rinse about two times. I would also think a carboy or bottle washer would do well to clean the inside. Here’s a simple one. http://www.webboise.com/build-a-carboy-washer/ __________________ http://smokebubbles.wordpress.com - Brewin’ and ‘Quein’ since last Tuesday.
